Shoestring Web Design Services aim to empower people, enabling
them to create , maintain and promote their own web site and online
business on a shoestring budget. Much of what people pay for is not
necessary, and many of us are ripped off on a daily basis, when this
is not our area of knowledge, understanding or expertise.
Shoestring Web Services aim to be a part of changing that

friendly and helpful advice about the cheapest, most effecitve ways to
create, maintain and promote your online business. This includes information
about setting up shopping carts, subscriptions, selling items and more through
your web site- accepting bank account, credit and debit cards without the
need for a merchant account (which is often not cost effective if you have
a small business)
As well as where to find free and cheap domain names and hosting.

Obviously we arent going to work for less than we are worth
- however offering a service with a conscience, and keeping
well-informed about whats best for YOU (rather than our bank balance)
means we are quickly developing an excellent reputation in Australia
- after operating successfully in the UK for five years.

And why is this? Why do we want to help you?
Because Emma learned much of what she knows the hard way!

Emma is a teacher (BEd Hons) with Masters Degree from Nottingham
University and a Certificate in Life Coaching. She spends her life helping
people to 'Create the Life You Want' (see Hartnell-Baker-Consultancy.com)
and specialises in 'Connecting People through Positive Behaviour Change'

In around 2002 she paid an enormous amount of money to have a web
site set up, and then - after the latest $2495 bill for updating the site- she
decided to learn Dreamweaver herself. That was it- she was hooked.
She then looked back, about six months later, at the final work list.
She estimate the '$2495' bill would have actually taken around 3 hours to do.

With a teaching background and passion for site promotion
(the original site is still number 1 on the internet with google for anything
relating to 'barbados budget' etc and she sold it for a decent sum in
2004!) and after numerous requests from freinds and family to take over
their site maintenance, she realised she wasnt the only one being rupped off.
And so 'Shoestring Web Design Services and Training' was born
- with her own unique intensive Dreamweaver and site promotion trianing
course going down so well in the UK that she had a waiting list usually of
around 3 months for private sessions.

Rather than you paying us to create and maintain your web site, we prefer
to teach you to do it yourself-although of course if you simply dont have the
time (or interest!) then we are happy to do it at a price you
know is fair and honest.
